A big crowd turned out in Traralgon on 28 August to celebrate local companies at the 18th annual Bendigo Bank Gippsland Business Awards.
Gippsland Cosmetic Laser Clinic, which has an outlet in Traralgon as well as Warragul, won the new business category and was presented with its award in front of more than 360 people at the Premiere Function Centre.
The award judges noted Gippsland Cosmetic Laser Clinic was a high quality business that provided specialised laser and cosmetic services delivered by experienced division one nurses.
Business of the Year went to Stratford-based Briagolong Engineering.
Gippsland Business Awards Committee chair Graeme Sennett said the gala awards night was a wonderful showcase for Gippsland businesses.
“There was an excellent group of nominations this year from all areas of Gippsland, which is demonstrated by the category winners who come from all parts of the region,” Mr Sennett said.
Mr Sennett said selecting category winners had been challenging, with a high standard of entries.
“Each finalist is assessed and independently rated by five different judges across 10 judging criteria, and as appropriate, receiving site visits or judges undertaking mystery shopper visits,” he said.
“The wonderful thing about the Bendigo Bank Gippsland Business Awards is that the excellent work of all business entries is on show.
“The business awards are a chance to see the best Gippsland has to offer and to celebrate the passion and commitment of our local business community.
“On behalf of the organising committee I would like to congratulate the winners, finalists and sponsors for their support of the Bendigo Bank Gippsland Business Awards and encourage businesses that were not finalists or did not nominate this year to get involved next year.”
