THE Mid Gippsland Football-Netball League has confirmed it will play a 13 round home-and-away season.

The changes come amid the cancellation of rounds in recent weeks, which have seen Round 8 and 9 wiped out.

Round 10, scheduled to be held this weekend, has also been scrapped.

The MGFNL will aim to recommence the season on Saturday, June 19 with Rounds 11, 12 and 13 to follow the original fixture.

After that point, Rounds 8, 9 and 10 will be played to round out the season.

The 13 round fixture will ensure every team plays each other once.

All teams will then have a bye before the finals commence, which will be once week earlier than the original fixture.

By having a 13 round home-and-away fixture, the competition sees equalisation and also gives the MGFNL two weeks grace (pre finals bye and finals coming back one week) if further restrictions arise.

ELSEWHERE, the Gippsland League has hope of senior sport being played this weekend, and has sent out three draft fixtures to clubs.

The options being considered are: a draft to start this weekend for all grades, a draft to start on the June 19 for all grades and a draft to start juniors on June 12 and seniors on June 19.
