Collisions on Thursday

THREE separate accidents which resulted in victims being conveyed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries occurred on Thursday in Traralgon, Churchill and Morwell.

According to Latrobe Highway Patrol, the first incident took place at 6.45am when a car exiting Mattingley Hill Road onto the Hyland Highway near Loy Yang Power Station collided with a Traralgon-bound rubbish truck.

Two men aged 21 and 18 years were taken to the hospital.

In the second incident, a Latrobe Valley bus carrying school children collided with the rear of a car turning right onto Glendonald Way from Monash Way in Churchill.

No children were injured in the collision, but the 52 year-old woman driving the car was taken to hospital.

The third incident took place at 11.30am in Morwell, when two vehicles collided at the intersection of Williams and Savige streets.

A vehicle travelling south on Williams Street disobeyed a ‘give way’ sign and drove into the path of a car travelling east on Savige Street.

Two women aged 61 and 64 years, respectively, were taken to the hospital.
