Strikes planned

NEXT month will see a roll-out of eight hour strikes by mental health workers across the state, including those at Latrobe Regional Hospital.

After a stop work meeting attended by about 350 Health and Community Services Union members in Melbourne last week, HACSU state secretary Lloyd Williams said the vote marked a “significant point in the campaign”.

The stop work decision followed 10 months of negotiations with the State Government and more than eight months of protected industrial bans and actions by members in the workplace, according to Mr Williams.
