Three drivers involved in a collision along Hazelwood Road about 5.30pm yesterday have avoided serious injury.
According to police, a 20 year-old Churchill man was driving south along Hazelwood Road when he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel along the stretch between the Loy Yang turnoff and Firmins Lane roundabout.
He had drifted into oncoming traffic when his car and an oncoming car collided head-on.
The second vehicle then spun, colliding with a third vehicle.
A 23 year-old woman from Traralgon was trapped for 30 minutes in the second car while State Emergency Service and Country Fire Authority crews worked to free her.
She was taken to Latrobe Regional Hospital with minor leg injuries.
The Churchill man was also taken to hospital with chest soreness.
A 49 year-old Traralgon man, the driver of the third vehicle, was not injured.
