Fatal Thorpdale crash

A 52 year-old Thorpdale man died at Saviges Road, Thorpdale on Friday morning after the motorcycle he was riding and a Toyota Hilux collided about 7.20am.

The Victoria Police Major Collision Unit is investigating the incident. The driver of the Hilux, a 32-year-old Thorpdale man is assisting police with their enquiries.

Accident victim airlifted

An accident victim has been airlifted to Latrobe Regional Hospital early this morning after a two-vehicle collision on the Strzelecki Highway.

Police were called out to the incident at 6.20am, which occurred between Thorpdale and Creamery roads, and were still on the scene at the time of going to print.

Youths arrested

Two youths have been arrested in relation to two separate armed robberies of taxis which occurred in Morwell overnight. The Morwell youths were in custody this morning awaiting interviewing by the Latrobe Criminal Investigation Unit.

Vehicle drive-off

Police are seeking information about a crash in Traralgon on Thursday, 1 August. About 3am a vehicle, possibly a white Toyota sedan, was involved in a collision on Whittakers Road, along side the Traralgon Showgrounds. The driver allegedly left the scene without exchanging details with the other party. The Toyota sedan would have sustained significant damage to its rear. Sporting clubs forum

The Moe and Traralgon liquor accords have reminded sporting clubs across the Latrobe Valley it’s not too late to register for a liquor licensing forum this week.

Acting Senior Sergeant Mick Morris said the forum aimed to prepare clubs in the lead-up to football finals and the start of the cricket season.

The meeting will be held at the Moe RSL on Wednesday from 7.30pm. Interested clubs should phone Snr Sgt Morris on 5174 0900.
