According to a Loy Yang spokesperson, about 10.30am a minor fire was detected on the bucket wheel of dredger 14, one of the mine’s three large coal excavators.
Mine operations personnel extinguished the fire using hoses.Country Fire Authority crews attended, but the fire was out when they arrived.
