The man charged with robbing Moe’s Westpac bank on 23 September will appear in Latrobe Valley Magistrates Court on 9 January.
Jason Paul Tansley, 39, appeared in court on Thursday for a committal mention.
The court heard Tansley had not received a copy of the prosecution’s brief of evidence and had not recently spoken to his lawyer.
Magistrate Peter Mellas adjourned the matter to allow Tansley time to assess the charges and evidence against him before making a decision on a plea.
Charges against Tansley include robbing the bank of $8900 while carrying a silver-coloured pistol; and possessing drug of dependence, amphetamine.
Tansley made no application for bail and was remanded in custody.
