A 56 year-old Yinnar man has been cleared of any involvement in the grass fire that burned along the Yinnar-Driffield Road on Friday, 2 January.
The man was spotted at the scene of the blaze, which CFA crews attended about 12.20pm, and was assisting police with their inquiries.
Acting Detective Sergeant Ray Coles said police established the man had no involvement in the fire.
Acting Det Sgt Coles said the fire was still under investigation and police were appealing for witnesses to phone Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit on 5131 5000 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
