Duplication of the Princes Highway between Traralgon and Sale is one step closer with the start of work between the Sale-Heyfield Road at Fulham and Reid Drive in Wurruk.
“Works on the Fulham section will involve constructing new west bound traffic lanes to provide two lanes in each direction with a 15 metre central median,” Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said.
“A roundabout will also be constructed at Sale-Heyfield Road and upgrades undertaken at Polocrosse Lane to improve safety and provide additional vehicle protection.”
Works from east of Denison Road to east of Nambrok Road in Rosedale have now been completed.
Victorian Roads, Road Safety and Ports Minister Luke Donnellan said the new section would boost road safety.
“The Nambrok Road intersection has also been upgraded with separate left and right turn lanes, while additional safety measures such as guardrails and wire rope safety barriers have been installed,” he said.
The Federal Government has committed $210 million and the State Government $85 million to the overall duplication project.
