Tomorrow’s hearings postponed

An additional day of public hearings scheduled for tomorrow as part of the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry has been rescheduled to next Thursday, 22 October.

According to an inquiry spokesperson, the hearings were moved to provide the board and the parties further time to review new evidence.

The extra day is part of hearings looking into whether the Hazelwood coal mine fire contributed to an increase in deaths.

The hearings will still be held in Courtroom 2, Level 11, 222 Exhibition Street, Melbourne and are scheduled to start at 9am.

They will not be streamed online and those wishing to listen to evidence will need to be in attendance.

A transcript of the hearings and any exhibits presented will be posted on the inquiry’s website.
