SHOPPERS hit the Moe central business district in force on Thursday for the town’s annual three-hour sale.
Despite no public holiday and the cancellation of the Moe Cup, the sale attracted large numbers with local businesses slashing prices and customers shopping til’ they dropped.
Moe Traders Association secretary Susan Broadbent said the day went “really, really well”.
“It was really good, a perfect day weather-wise as well,” Ms Broadbent said.
She said although the Moe Cup had once again been cancelled, traders did not notice the impact.
“People still came out in numbers and supported local businesses which was great,” Ms Broadbent said.
“Everyone I’ve spoken too seems to be really happy with (how the event went).”
She said the sale would go ahead again next year, hopefully with the races up and going.
