CROWDS flocked to Mirboo North on Sunday for a day of food, fun and festivities with an Italian flavour.
The Mirboo North Italian Festa attracted about 5000 people from across Gippsland and beyond.
Rosie Romano from St Paul’s Catholic Social Club said organisers were “absolutely thrilled” with the turnout to the event.
“We’ve had the most positive response from the local community and the wider community,” Ms Romano said.
“Stallholders gave us really positive feedback about the organisation and how well they did on the day. It was a very successful day.”
Festival-goers were entertained with music and comedy, while the grape stomping contest proved popular.
The town decked itself out in the Italian colours and some shopfronts even took on an Italian theme.
“There were a lot of families enjoying a really relaxed event,” Ms Romano said.
