Works are currently underway to restore the iconic bell tower of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Traralgon.
Scaffolding on the outside of the church is expected to remain for at least the next two weeks as workers replace the tower’s brickwork.
Catholic Diocese of Sale’s Father Bernard Buckley said the purpose of the work was to ensure the church was structurally sound and safe.
The parish also hopes to restore the church bell to a working standard.
Church services are operating during the renovations as normal.
