Former AFL stars Brendan Fevola and David Schwarz will join Tasmanian mine disaster survivor Todd Russell to speak at the fourth annual Latrobe’s Biggest Ever Blokes BBQ.
Scheduled for Friday, 20 May at Kernot Hall, Morwell the event will be held from 11am to 4.30pm.
Tables of 10 cost $1100, and include pre-lunch snacks, lunch, afternoon tea, beverages and an afternoon packed with entertainment.
Raffles, auctions, door prizes and the popular ‘winner takes all’ table draw will also feature during the day.
“The previous three events have sold out, so we encourage everyone to get a table of mates together early to enjoy a great day out,” committee chair Ian Nethercote said.
All proceeds from the day will be used to raise awareness and fund research into prostate cancer.
“The Gippsland region has a mortality rate from prostate cancer 30 per cent higher than our city counterparts,” Mr Nethercote said.
“The Latrobe event has funded research to find out why, and raised awareness of this disease for local men.
“With the support of local businesses, both as sponsors and attendees on the day, each event has raised more than $100,000 to support the fight against prostate cancer.”
