Mine rehab top topic at forum

AGL Loy Yang’s mine rehabilitation and closure plans will be the topic of a community forum in Traralgon on Tuesday.

The Latrobe Valley community is invited to the forum which will feature an overview of AGL Loy Yang’s response to the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry, and the company’s mine rehabilitation and closure plans.

The forum will include an interactive session with community members invited to provide their views on how AGL Loy Yang can improve its community engagement.

AGL Loy Yang general manager Steve Rieniets said they were looking for ways to improve community engagement and invited members of the community to come along and share their views and ideas.

“We want to spend time listening and we hope this forum will be the start of a new way for us to engage with our community,” Mr Rieniets said.

The forum will be held at Century Inn, Traralgon from 10.30am and will be hosted by AGL Loy Yang’s environmental review committee.

A light lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the forum.
