The site of a former service station on the corner of Monash and Acacia ways in Churchill has been cleaned up.
It appears graffiti has been covered over, most signage removed and the petrol pump shelter taken down.
Latrobe City Council general manager of city development Phil Stone last week confirmed the site was listed on council’s dilapidated buildings register.
He said local laws officers had been working with the owners for some time to ensure the safety and amenity of the site.
“The owners have complied with all orders issued,” Mr Stone said.
“It is pleasing for both council and the community to see improvements being made at this location and to see that putting in the time to work closely with property owners pays off.
“Council is not aware of any planning or building permits for this site.”
Council recently amped up its efforts to address eyesores across the Latrobe Valley, strengthening its power to ensure owners maintain or clean up their property.
