Uglii liquidators appointed

The Federal Court has appointed liquidators to the Traralgon-based Uglii group.

On Friday, the Court ordered the appointment of Robyn Erskine and Adrian Hunter of Brooke Bird as joint and several provisional liquidators of Uglii Corporation Limited, Traralgon Technology Holdings Limited, Uglii Find Australia Limited, BizMio Limited, Projects Discovery Services Pty Ltd and Global Ads System Pty Ltd (formerly Uglii Ads System Pty Ltd).

It follows an application by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission for the appointment of provisional liquidators to the information technology development company, based on a number of concerns, including that the companies had allegedly been involved in many contraventions of corporation legislation, were allegedly not being properly managed and were likely to be or become insolvent.

Under the court’s orders, the provisional liquidators are to provide a report within 42 days which identifies the assets and liabilities of each of the companies, an opinion as to the solvency of each of the companies, any information necessary to enable the financial position of the companies, and any suspected contravention of the Corporations Act 2001 by any of the companies or their directors/officers.

A further hearing will take place on 3 November.
