Trafalgar and Narracan resident Fred Boreham is running for election in Baw Baw Council’s East Ward.
“I have lived and worked for most of my life in the local area, and now seems like a great opportunity to stand up and help balance the expectations of urban communities with that of other residents,” Mr Boreham said.
With more than 20 years of experience working in recreation, transport and community development, growing up on a dairy farm and managing local tourism and student services, Mr Boreham believes he is qualified to help ensure a transparent, consultative, fair and accountable council.
“I believe that council decisions should represent the range of community expectations for lifestyle, employment, welfare, rural sustainability and environment,” he said.
“I have always contributed to my community – having taken on leadership roles for the local CFA, kindergarten, high school, neighbourhood advisory group, hall committee, water trust, Landcare, Young Farmers and community housing advisory groups.”
