Max Williamson: A man of many hats

Morwell’s Max Williamson has been named 2016 Latrobe City Council Senior of the Year.

Mr Williamson has dedicated his time to performing active community service in Morwell for more than 50 years.

He has been a member of the Gippsland Water and Sewerage Board, treasurer for Advance Morwell, Morwell High School council member and the Victorian Public Transport Forum.

He is currently a member of the Morwell Probus Club, Morwell Town Common Committee and Yallourn Energy Environmental review committee.

Mr Williamson said his greatest community service was co-ordinating the Latrobe Valley Sheltered Workshop which later became Latrobe Valley Enterprises.

He was on the board of directors for 17 years and held the positions of treasurer secretary, vice president and president.

Mr Williamson was appointed life governor in 1985.

He is a life member of the Morwell Lions Club, holding various positions on the board over the past 40 years.
