Vehicle intercept reveals drugs

Overnight Monday 23 January Traralgon police intercepted a vehicle with no registration plates in Collins Street, Traralgon.

Police said when the vehicle was searched an ice pipe and amount of drugs were located.

A 31 year-old Traralgon man was questioned and admitted possession of the drugs and was interviewed and released pending further investigation.

Fire at Derhams Lane, Morwell

Morwell police are investigating a fire which occurred about 7.30am on Tuesday, 31 January at the HVP plantation in Derhams Lane, Morwell.

Police have been told that a passing motorist noticed the fire and reported it to the CFA who attended and found a vehicle burnt out at the location.

As a result of Crime Stoppers information, local police executed a drug warrant at a Newborough address last week.

Police located an amount of cannabis in the house and a 31 year-old Newborough man was taken into custody.

He has been interviewed and charged with various drug offences and bailed to appear at the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

Morwell police are investigating the cause of a fire at the intersection of Firmins Lane and Davey Jones Lane, Hazelwood North about 6.30pm on Monday, 30 January.

A passing motorist noticed flames in a grass area just off the intersection and notified the CFA who attended and extinguished the fire.

Police were notified due to the CFA investigator deeming the blaze suspicious.
