The police bomb squad has detonated an explosive device in Newborough’s Law Street this afternoon.
The street was evacuated and locked down between Murray Road and Balfour Street while police investigated the potential bomb threat in a residential driveway.
The situation is now under control after police detonated the device in a controlled environment.
Law Street has been re-opened but police remain on site investigating the matter.
There are no suspects at this stage.
