Car fire in Tyers

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Holden Commodore was set alight at a reserve in Tyers on Wednesday morning.

Police said a passer-by noticed the vehicle engulfed in flames at Sandbanks Reserve on Tyers Road about 2.15am.

Service station armed robbery 

Latrobe Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating an armed robbery at a BP service station in Traralgon’s east on Saturday night.

Police believe a man entered the Princes Highway store about 9pm, jumped over the counter and allegedly threatened the attendant with a firearm.

Police said the man made off with cash and cigarettes.

The attendant was not physically injured.

Stolen car

Morwell police are calling for witnesses after a 2003 red Ford XR6 was stolen from Winifred Street, Morwell on Saturday morning.

Police said the car has black stripes across the front and sides and is fairly distinctive.

The car was stolen sometime between midnight and 8am on Saturday.

Police pursuit

Traralgon police are investigating a high speed pursuit that took place in Traralgon on Thursday morning.

At about 12.50am police attempted to pull over a green Holden Statesman in Gwalia Street before it sped off along the Traralgon-Glengarry Road towards Glengarry.

Police said the car reached speeds in excess of 150 kilometres per hour before the pursuit was terminated due to safety reasons.

Caught in the wardrobe

Police were called to an address in Moe after reports a man breached a family violence intervention order on Thursday night.

Police attended the residential address and forced entry after the man allegedly refused to open the door. Police said the man was found hiding in a wardrobe.

A 34 year-old Moe man was arrested without incident and charged with numerous breaches of an intervention order.

He faced Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Friday and was remanded in custody until 11 May.

Stolen plates and pursuit

Police attempted to pull over a blue Holden VE Commodore station wagon with stolen number plates on Shakespeare Street, Traralgon about 1am on Friday morning.

The car took off at high speed towards Melrossa Road before police terminated the pursuit a short time later due to safety concerns.

Police are calling for witnesses who were in the area at the time of the pursuit.
