Police caught three people drug-driving in five hours at the weekend in the Latrobe Valley.
On Sunday at 12.45pm, a 44-year-old man from Moe was detected with illegal drugs while driving in Moe.
Less than two hours later a 43-year-old Mornington man was caught drug driving following an oral fluid test in Trafalgar.
Later that afternoon in Morwell, a 32-year-old Morwell woman was also caught allegedly driving while under the influence of an illegal drug.
Man caught 30km/h above limit
A driver allegedly clocked at more than 30km/h above the speed limit in Morwell has lost his licence for a month after being caught by police in an unmarked car.
Latrobe Highway Patrol members recorded the driver, who obtained his licence about three months ago, at 93km/h in a 60km/h zone on Friday at 10.20pm near the intersection of McDonald Street and Princes Drive.
Police said the driver took off at a green light at a “very fast rate of speed”.
The 18-year-old from Morwell, was issued with a $524 penalty notice, four demerit points as well as a one month licence suspension.
In a separate incident, highway patrol members impounded a car after pulling over a disqualified driver on Saturday.
Police said they were driving along the Traralgon-Maffra Road in Traralgon on Saturday when they pulled over a man who was driving without a licence.
Checks revealed the man’s licence had been cancelled.
The vehicle the 40-year-old man from Hoppers Crossing was driving was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1291.
He will be charged on summons with driving while disqualified.
Churchill man loses licence
State Highway Patrol officers were left shaking their heads after nabbing a speedster in Morwell on Sunday night.
Officers were parked along the Princes Highway as part of a four-night operation targeting speeding and driver impairment when they allegedly detected a Toyota sedan allegedly travelling at 184km/h in a 110km/h zone.
The car was intercepted and the driver, a 23-year-old Churchill man, had his car immediately impounded. He is expected to be charged with speeding offences.
