The boy was remanded in custody on Thursday and will appear before a children’s court at a later date.

Churchill car stolen, torched

A car was destroyed by fire on Nadenbouschs Road in Churchill last week only hours after it was stolen from a Hazelwood North home.

Detectives said the red 2010 Holden Commodore was stolen from the Church Road property between 11.30pm on Tuesday and 5am on Wednesday.

Police said unknown offenders broke into the house before stealing keys to the car and driving off.

The vehicle was later discovered crashed into a tree and was destroyed by fire.
