Thieves have stolen a “large amount of cash” from an elderly man’s home in Morwell.
Detectives said at least one person broke into the Church Street, Morwell home between 1pm and 2.30pm on Monday, May 20.
Police said a safe, which contained a large amount of cash and jewellery, was stolen from the man’s home.

Traralgon house fire
An historic Queens Parade house was destroyed by fire in Traralgon overnight.
Police said the fire was being treated as suspicious after the house became fully engulfed by flames shortly before 3.30am on Monday.
Five fire trucks attended the blaze, however, firefighters were unable to save the weatherboard home which was significantly damaged, police said.
Investigators said the house was surrounded by cyclone fencing and was vacant at the time of the blaze. People with information should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
