POSITIVE viral COVID fragments have been detected in the local wastewater in the Moe/Newborough area.
The Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU) confirmed the detection of the viral fragments but have assured the community no positive COVID-19 cases have been detected in Latrobe City.
GRPHU have asked the community to remain vigilant and get tested if experiencing any symptoms, not matter how minor.
Gippsland Water will now undertake intensive wastewater surveillance over the coming days.
Testing locations are as follows:
– Moe Senior Citizens Centre – walk-up
Open until 4pm today and 9am – 1pm tomorrow, Friday 17 September.
– Dorevitch Pathology at Latrobe Regional Hospital – drive-through by appointment
Open until 4.30pm today and 10am – 4pm tomorrow, Friday 17 September.
– Morwell Respiratory Clinic – by appointment
Open from 9am – 5pm weekdays and 9am to 2pm Saturday.
