LATROBE Valley has recorded nine new cases of COVID-19.
Victoria recorded 1842 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, and 12 deaths.
One case was acquired overseas and the remainder were acquired locally.
This brings the active cases in Victoria to 22,598, and 183 in Latrobe.
Regional Victoria recorded 153 new cases.
A total of 786 people are in hospital, 147 in intensive care and 97 are on a ventilator.
Ninety six per cent of people in intensive care were not fully vaccinated.
There was 38,881 vaccines administered yesterday in state hubs.
Victoria is currently sitting at 89.8 per cent of those over 16 first dose, and 68.5 per cent second dose.
A live music event was also announced at today’s press conference.
Arts Minister Danny Pearson said this is the first step in getting live music back.
The event will take place on October 30, at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, featuring several popular artists and bands.
Tickets will go on on sale at 3pm Friday, October 22, on the Arts Centre Melbourne website.
The event will be delivered in accordance with the COVIDsafe plan, and everyone in attendance must be fully vaccinated.
Minister Pearson said 1.8 million Victorians have connected their vaccination to the Service Victoria app.
“Technology is going to be the great enabler,” he said.
