Latrobe City records 41 new cases of COVID-19

Latrobe City recorded 41 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday.

That lifts the total of active cases in the municipality to 209.

Of today’s numbers, 26 are located in the 3825 postcode (Moe/Newborough district), 10 are in the 3840 postcode (Morwell district), four are in the 3844 postcode (Traralgon district) and one in the 3842 postcode (Churchill district).

Victoria recorded 2235 new cases and 12 deaths.

Three new cases were acquired overseas, and the remainder were acquired locally.

Regional Victoria recorded 214 new cases, representing 10 per cent of all new cases.

There are now 22,889 active cases in Victoria.

A total of 779 people are in hospital, 141 are in intensive care, and 96 are on a ventilator.

Of those in intensive care, 98 per cent were not fully vaccinated.

There were 37,824 vaccines administered in state hubs yesterday.

Victoria has officially reached the 70 per cent double dose target, with the state set to begin opening up at 11.59pm tonight.

Victoria has also reached 90 per cent first dose for those 16 and over.

“Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of all Victorians, when the clock strikes midnight tonight, the lockdown is over,”  Victorian Deputy Premier James Merlino said.
