TRARALGON Police Station was the scene of a bomb scare on Thursday, October 21.

An individual brought a suspected bomb into the station’s reception, and the station was subsequently shut down from 1.30pm to 8pm.

After investigation it was eventually determined to not be a bomb.

During the incident, surrounding roads were closed for public safety while the Bomb Squad attended the scene.

Police advise anyone who thinks they are in possession of an explosive device or explosive to contact the police to organise a collection. They ask people not to bring suspected explosives to the police station.

 

Home invasion in Newborough

TWO males, which police believe to have been armed with a log splitter, allegedly entered a home on Haunted Hills Road, Newborough in the early hours on Monday, October 25.

The pair were disrupted when police attended the scene about 12.45am and a short foot chase ensued.

One male was arrested, while the other fled on foot into bushland and paddocks.

One male has been remanded in custody.

Neighbourhood dispute

POLICE attended a neighbourhood dispute at Little Crescent, Traralgon on Friday, October 22.

Police spoke to both parties involved.

One person was allegedly abusive and aggressive towards the police, with OC foam used by officers on the individual.

One person was arrested at the scene.

 

4WD crash

A MAN was injured when a 4WD vehicle rolled in Glengarry North at 1.40am on Saturday, October 23.

The accident occurred in dense scrubland and emergency services were unable to locate the scene until 5:50am.

Police, SES, and Fire Rescue Victoria were involved.

The man trapped in the rolled vehicle was extracted by the SES and taken to hospital.

Police believe alcohol may have played a role.

Police would like to advise people to take care when off-road driving and to not consume alcohol while behind the wheel.

They also suggest people to not participate in off-road driving at night.

Charges are expected to be laid as a result of the incident.

 

Arrest in Morwell

A MALE was arrested outside the Morwell Railway Station on Sunday, October 24, after
allegedly attempting to break into a chemist located across the street.

The male attempted to flee from police, before allegedly turning on police with a weapon.

Police deployed and activated their tasers to subdue the male, who was arrested and remains in custody.

 

Fire at abandoned warehouse

THREE youths allegedly set fire to an abandoned V/Line warehouse on Tramway Rd,
Morwell on Monday, October 25 at 3.20am.

The CFA attended the incident and extinguished the fire.

Three males were arrested, two aged 13 years and one aged 14.

The three were issued child cautions.
