TWO men were arrested after allegedly robbing Moe’s Subway restaurant in the early
morning hours of Wednesday, January 5.

Police were called to the fast-food restaurant on Moore St, after an alarm was triggered at
1.40am.

Cash was allegedly taken from a safe inside the restaurant, before those involved left the
scene in a waiting vehicle.

Half an hour after police attended the scene, Warragul police intercepted a 2016 Ford sedan
travelling on the Princes Highway in Drouin.

The driver, a 39-year-old Reservoir man and passenger, a 31-year-old Drouin man, were
arrested after police located a sledgehammer, allegedly stolen paperwork, and cash in the
vehicle.

The two men were taken to Warragul police station, where they assisted police with enquiries.

Morwell man arrested in Drouin

A 27-year-old Morwell man was arrested just before midnight on Wednesday, January 5 after allegedly ramming a police vehicle.

Police officers were patrolling the area when they observed an allegedly stolen gold Mazda
sedan parked in a driveway on Kraft Crescent, Drouin.

They stopped in front of the vehicle, and the driver allegedly accelerated into the police
vehicle, before fleeing the scene on foot through a neighbouring property.

Police cordoned off the area, and located the man hiding on the roof of a residential property.

The police vehicle sustained moderate damage, and no officers were injured.

It was later established that the Mazda sedan was allegedly stolen from a Morwell address
between 12pm on Tuesday, January 4 and 12am on Wednesday, January 5.
