TRARALGON Centre Plaza (TCP) celebrated its 40th anniversary this year.

Official celebrations were held last month.

The plaza is home to more than 50 stores and services, including major retailers like Coles and Kmart. It continues to be a vital part of the local economy and a space where people come together for shopping, grabbing a coffee, or simply enjoying the company of others.

The centre has weathered changes (and actual weather after the major 2021 floods) in ownership, branding, and retail trends.

Honours: Latrobe City Deputy Mayor (then Mayor) Dale Harriman cuts the anniversary cake.

TCP first opened for trade on November 11, 1985. A feature of the complex is the undercover carpark – the only of its kind for a shopping centre in the Latrobe Valley.

The centre operated under the Stockland banner until 2021, when it reverted back to its original name. Stockland sold its interest in the centre to Melbourne-based Fawkner Property for $85 million.
