In a solid physical contest, the Bombers held sway in the final term to record a four goal victory, 48 to 44.
Churchill convincingly accounted for Gormandale at home, the Cougars proving damaging across the court to win by 17 goals.
A number of sides’ opened their season account in round three, with Heyfield scoring a 45 to 28 victory over Boisdale/Briagolong.
Cowwarr also recorded its first four points proving too strong for Glengarry, while Sale City sealed a seven goal win over Woodside.
