Magical moment

Morwell Magic basketballers Olivia Walsh and Sophie Lecchino made the under 12s jamboree recently, following a skills day held in Traralgon.

More than 500 players attended skills days across eight locations in country Victoria, with the Traralgon session held last month.

“This is a great achievement for both of these young ladies,” a spokesperson said.

Sixty boys and 60 girls were selected to attend the Basketball Victoria Country Jamboree in Echuca, while 33 boys and 33 girls were selected to attend the Great Murray Riveria Basketball Jamboree in Albury.

The girls were selected to attend different Jamboree camps with Olivia making the Echuca and Sophie making the Albury.

Other players from the Latrobe Valley to make the camps are:

Echuca boys Wade Anderson (Moe), Lachlan Bond (Traralgon), Brock Smith (Moe), Ben Van Dyk (Moe) and Finn Walker (Moe).

Echuca girls Caitlin Prestidge (Moe), Lindsay Tucker (Traralgon), Lucy Mahnken (Traralgon), Chloe Dicorato (Traralgon), Brittney Stapersma (Moe), Stephanie Bryce (Traralgon), Ellie Coutts (Moe) and Charlize Bird (Moe).

Albury boys Cohen Ruyters (Traralgon).

Albury girls Georgia Morris (Traralgon).
