TRAFALGAR A grade snuck away with a one point win over Newborough in a nail biter, 37-36, in the opening round of Mid Gippsland netball.
Newborough led at both minor breaks, with the score tied up at 17 all at half time.
Trafalgar managed to hang in there to come away with the four points.
It was an easy win for Yinnar against Hill End in sweltering Saturday heat, 56-33.
Yinnar was able to trial a variety of combinations in round one and moved the ball well as a team.
They applied a lot of pressure to the opposition’s offensive end and forced several turn-overs as the game progressed.
A 10-point lead in the first quarter helped Thorpdale to secure the win over Yarragon 41-34.
In other matches Boolarra beat Yallourn Yallourn North 58-31 and Mirboo North defeated Morwell East 48-42.
