Templeton’s showstopper

MOE trainer Mick Templeton put his local knowledge to good advantage and scored a $15,000 plate victory with Slideshow at Glenview Park, Traralgon on Friday.

The four-year old gelding’s first win came in just its second start to kick off the Latrobe Valley Racing Club meeting with a flurry for the Gippsland stable.

Templeton’s Moe counterpart Peter Gelagotis picked up a second placing in the race five handicap with Sweet Home Chicago, who backed up from a run in Traralgon on Ladies’ Day.

Moving Money lived up to its name in the eighth and final race on the card, an 1150-metre handicap, winning as a $9 outsider for trainer Tony Rosolini.

The meeting was upgraded to a dead four after race six.

The club’s next major meeting will be Traralgon Cup day on 8 December.
