FOUR sisters representing four different clubs reunited in their home town of Yallourn North yesterday, combining forces for the first time to contest the township’s women’s fours invitational.
The uncommon convergence saw Vicky Bounds (Yallourn North), Tess Borg (Morwell Club), Annie Maruzza (Meeniyan) and Mary Andrews (Paynesville) fulfil a long-standing desire to fly the family flag in fours competition.
Aged 61 to 72, the women won two of their three matches on the day, and were one shot shy of best last game winners.
The foursome pledged a return to compete together again next year.
Gwen Mason’s Warragul side bested Heather Scullin’s Heyfield quartet to take the honours for the day in which 64 women from Lakes Entrace to Inverloch took part.
