THE Churchill Braves continued their tense feud with Moe/Newborough Dodgers in round 16 of the GDF SUEZ Loy Yang B Latrobe Valley Baseball A grade competition, in a prelude to the preliminary final next fortnight.

As has been the case the last two times the teams have faced off, neither was prepared to give the other the room to budge.

Dodger Jason Smith and Braves pitcher Mat Prior held the game scoreless for four innings with stellar performances on the mound, until Prior added the first run off an RBI single that scored Tim Bellerby.

The Dodgers answered with two runs in the sixth to take the lead, only to have the Braves reply with another to level the score again.

Adding one more in the seventh to edge ahead, Moe/Newborough led until the ninth when the Braves hit back to equalise and nab a draw 3-3.

Traralgon travelled to Sale and, while the undermanned Rangers attempted to hold the rampaging Redsox, the result was one sided in favour of the visitor.

The Redsox hitters combined for 24 hits to score a massive 35 runs.

Owen Godenzi led the way with seven RBI’s on three hits with a single and two huge home run bombs.

Damien Goodman was strong on the hill for the Redsox and held the Rangers scoreless for the entire game, as Traralgon won out 35-0.
