Home run for Latrobe Valley Power

THE Latrobe Valley Power masters baseball side claimed its first medal at the Pan Pacific Masters Games this month after 12 years competing at the tournament.

The Power won silver in the over 50 division, going down 15-5 to 2012 champion the Adelaide Brewers in the gold medal game.

In their sixth trip to the event, the local contingent defeated the Canberra Senators 4-1 to qualify for the final.

The competition featured strong opposition, including a team from Guam and a host of former ABL and state representative baseballers.
