MOURINHO just keeps on giving for Moe horse trainer Peter Gelagotis.
The seven year-old bay gelding provided Gelagotis his biggest win to date, taking out the group two Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
Mourinho was not among the original nominations, but after impressing at Cranbourne took his place as a late acceptance.
It proved a shrewd move as Mourinho upset Peter Moody’s short odds favourite Dissident ($1.85), which ran third, to win.
Gelagotis’ previous biggest success was with Hvasstan in the group two Alister Clark Stakes in 2013, only to lose the race through a positive swab.
