Traralgon parkrun flourishing

TRARALGON’S fledgling parkrun continues to flourish, with another 107 participants, including 41 newcomers, taking part on Saturday.

A whopping 39 runners recorded personal best times for the five kilometre course.

Local teacher Chris Lehner was first male over the line in 19 minutes and 24 seconds, Kim Harrold was second in 19.28 and Jarrod Walker third in 19.34.

Hayley O’Neill was first female home in 24.22 in her first appearance, Danielle Cox was second in 24.42 and Sinead Brand was third in 25.07.

A host of runners and walkers turned out in pink to embrace the Mother’s Day theme.

parkrun is a non-profit community organisation which aims to encourage the community to be active together, with a 5km easy course for walkers and runners of all abilities.

Traralgon parkrun is held at Agnes Brereton Park from 8am every Saturday with a 7.50am briefing.
