TRARALGON Tennis Association’s 12-strong contingent took the 2016 Geelong Junior Grasscourt Gold Tournament by storm late last month, led by Josh Charlton’s victory in the 16 and under boys’ singles event.

Charlton knocked fourth seed Brock Dixon over 6-0, 6-4 in a dominant singles final and took the title without dropping a set in his five matches.

Damian Hough was another top performer for Traralgon with victory in the 14 and under boys doubles alongside Josh McPhee.

The duo defeated top seeds Nicholas Kerr and Matthew Woerndle 6-4, 6-2 in the final to take the silverware.

Justin Hough had a standout tournament in the boys under 16 doubles, reaching the final with Aidan Vaughan to finish runner-up.

Jack Clements made the most of his run in the under 14s main draw consolation competition, taking home first place.

The tournament ran from 22 to 26 January.
