MASTER plans for Catterick Crescent and Maryvale Recreation reserves have been approved in principle by Latrobe City Council.
Council considered seven submissions relating to the Catterick Crescent plan and 11 on the Maryvale proposal in its reports tabled at an ordinary meeting on 29 February.
The Catterick Crescent plan includes the outdoor field and the Traralgon Basketball Stadium.
The master plan proposes redevelopment of the indoor stadium, reconditioning the oval for cricket and Aussie Rules, replacing existing clubrooms, fencing, adding new synthetic practice wickets and netting, and various unstructured recreation opportunities.
It also proposes upgrading the car park by about 52 spaces and adding another car parking area for school pick up and drop off.
The Maryvale master plan includes a second storey to the pavilion, improved drainage, fencing, better ground and parking access, playgrounds, public amenities, relocated practice cricket nets and improved fire brigade running facilities.
It also details upgrades for the Pigeon Club, Maltese Club and Gippsland Gladiators grid-iron club.
The projects are still dependent on attracting external funding.
