Traralgon gives no respite to Leongatha

Traralgon did not give opponent Leongatha any respite in the reserves grand final after stamping its authority on the game early on.

The Maroons added another reserves flag to their collection with a 10.6 (66) to 6.10 (46) victory.

Traralgon booted three majors to end the first term 11 points ahead, with the scoreboard reading 3.0 (18) to 1.1 (7).

The Parrots added two majors and two behinds in the second quarter, but could not match the Maroons’ accurate kicking.

With every attempt finishing between the big sticks, Traralgon led at half-time 7.0 (42) to 3.3 (21).

There wasn’t much movement on the scoreboard during the third term, with each team adding a single major to their tally.

Going into the final quarter the scoreboard read Traralgon 8.5 (53) to Leongatha’s 4.4 (28).

Leongatha fought hard in the final quarter to reverse the deficit, but could only manage two goals and six minors.

At the other end Traralgon managed two of its own to put the result beyond doubt.
