Tennis has been Josh Charlton’s life from a young age.

In December Josh won the Australian Under 18 Championship Doubles at Melbourne Park, an experience he rated as one of his most memorable sporting moments.
“I’m coming into the tournament knowing that I am playing some of my best tennis and I know I can go deep (in the tournament),” Josh said.
“It’s about getting your mindset ready and really focusing on the game and to not get too overwhelmed by all the excitement.
“The coaches have been working closely with me to fine-tune my ability and make sure my body is right.”
Josh competed in the Traralgon International last year, narrowly losing a tight qualifying match.
“I’ve gained a lot of good experience since playing in the tournament last year, I know what to expect,” he said.
“I know I’m definitely up to the standard and given my year of growth I think I have the experience to know what I have to do to win it.
“I’ve been playing on grass courts recently so I’ve been adjusting to the hard courts and focusing on strength and conditioning.”
Josh is currently competing in the Tennis Australia Gold AMT at Notting Hill which will finish later today.
Interestingly, in 2014 Alex Zverev won the Traralgon International Championship.
