It was a battle of the buggies at Maffra and District Car Club’s Boisdale Hillclimb on Sunday, 15 October.
The spring weather saw most drivers gain seven runs for the race meeting despite a large field of entries.
Reigning club champion Matt Muir was the fastest on 40.73 seconds, just in front of Maurice McCarthy on 41.07.
Third place outright was another buggy driven by Roger Shaw with a best time of 41.11 seconds.
Junior drivers Ethan Szalanda and Ryan Austin also posted great times.
Chelsea Hickling, Kym Renooy and Natalie Street also fought hard in the ladies’ class with less than a second separating first and third.
The next and final race meeting for the 2017 season is the Noel Burley Memorial Hillclimb on Saturday, 11 November for a twilight event.
