Churchill has taken a narrow first innings win in its Traralgon and District Cricket Association A grade match against Gormandale.
The Cobras posted 226 on day one after Ben Kearns set his team up with a monster 123.
The Tigers finished day one 3/89 with Adrian Burgiel (54 not out) and James Jacobsen (two not out) at the crease.
Jacobsen was unable to add to his overnight score before he was removed by Ryan Harvey.
Bohdi Walker (duck) and Travis Switzer (two) were Harvey’s next victims and when Burgiel fell for 76, the visitors looked in trouble at 7/121.
Enter Shaun Barbour who backed up his four wickets on day one with a 50.
He received ample support from Tate Marsh (20) and Brandon McDonald (13) but Gormandale fell 21 runs short, all out for 206.
Harvey was the pick of the bowlers with 4/46.
Ex Students is back on top of the TDCA ladder after completing an outright win against Traralgon West at Traralgon Recreation Reserve.
The Sharks finished day one with a stranglehold on the match after knocking up 206 in the first innings before dismissing the Eagles for 71.
At stumps on day one, Ex Students were 3/93 in its innings.
The hosts declared early on day two at 4/126, setting Traralgon West 261 to win.
Lee Stockdale struck early in the Eagles’ second innings to remove James Griffiths for five.
Nilantha Thillekarathna and Tim Fitch got the total to 65, before Thillekarathna was caught off the bowling of Robert Voss for 36.
Fitch fell not long after for 24 with the visitors soon falling apart to be all out for 96 in 50.2 overs.
Daniel Cropley was the only other batsman to reach double figures with 14.
Voss finished with 5/17 off 14 overs and Stockdale took 3/35 from 22 overs.
Imperials has avoided outright defeat after being forced to follow on after being blasted out by Glengarry on day two.
Chasing the Magpies’ first innings total of 239, openers Ryan Morley (39) and Matthew Hibbs (22) got their side off to a solid start at Fred King Oval.
But their dismissals prompted a massive collapse, with the visitors being all out for 92 in 53 overs without another batsman reaching double figures.
Brad Sizeland was the star of the show with 5/39.
The visitors were asked to follow on and were soon in similar trouble.
Ross Williams made 36 not out to prevent outright defeat as Alistair Jenkin took 4/49 in the second dig for Glengarry.
CATS has completed an emphatic outright victory against Centrals on day two of its clash at John Black Oval.
It was only a matter of time after Centrals started day two 5/45 in its second innings, trailing CATS first innings score by 24 runs.
CATS blasted out the visitors for the paltry total of 44 in the first dig.
Day two brought more misery for Centrals, with Joshua Stacey (21) the only batsman to stand up as the visitors were skittled for 81 in 35.2 overs.
It was the Callum Stewart show, with the CATS bowler finishing with eight wickets to take his match tally to 11.
CATS was forced to bat again, with the openers chasing down the runs in 1.3 overs.
Centrals end the round in 10th place on the ladder with CATS in seventh.
Justin Little’s maiden A grade century was not enough to get Rovers over the line against Toongabbie on Saturday.
Rovers faced a tough task when play resumed on Saturday as it prepared to chase down the Rams’ total of 266 at Duncan Cameron Park.
Opening the batting, Justin Little lost partners Hayden Willaton (eight) and Ewan Williams (seven) early and looked to rebuild with captain Kevin Stoddart.
When Stoddart was removed for 14 off the bowling of Tom Shippen, it fell to Justin Little and Tyler Pearce to get the innings back on track.
The pair combined for a 93-run partnership before twin strikes from Shippen removed Pearce for 22 and Liam Little for a duck.
Justin Little fell for 101 with David Little (30) and Jack Lynch (16) providing some lower-order firepower.
However, it was not enough to get the home team over the line with Rovers all out for 215 in 76.3 overs.
Shippen was the pick of the bowlers with 3/35 off 17 overs.
