After an impressive win against Heyfield, Rosedale remain undefeated at the top of the North Gippsland A grade ladder after six rounds.
The Blues host Traralgon Tyers United this weekend who sit fourth after a seven-goal win over Gormandale at the weekend.
Bombers A grade coach Jennifer Duncan said it would be a tough game but was hopeful the side could register their fourth win for the season.
“We’ve found a lot of games this year to be quite physical and we’re improving every week so hopefully we can come out winners,” Duncan said.
“After last week, we were very much rapt with the result of the game. It was good to bounce back – the girls were positive.
“It was probably one of the better games we’ve had this season, we got together mid week and discussed our season so far.”
She said one of the improvements to follow that meeting was the understanding of communication and support on game day.
“That helped us immensely on the weekend so hopefully we can do that again against Rosedale,” Duncan said.
Rosedale are coming off a 17-goal win over Heyfield.
Yarram v Sale City
Yarram remain key contenders for a top five finish this season after claiming their fourth win, defeating Glengarry by 20 goals at the weekend.
Demons A grade coach Stacee Staley said the side was very confident following the win and was keen to continue its consistency against Sale City on Saturday.
“It’s boosted our confidence and our girls now know they can play the game,” Staley said.
“Our set plays and the flow of the game were two good things to take out of it, and everyone played well together … it was a team effort.”
However, Sale City are serious about defending their title as reigning premiers and Staley said her team could match the Bulldogs on game day.
“They’ve lost a couple of players and we did beat them last year,” she said.
“If the girls can do what they did last week, we should get another win on the board hopefully.”
The Bulldogs sit just outside the top five with three wins for the season.
Cowwarr v Woodside
Saints coach Ebony Galea says Cowwarr were a chance to register their fourth win this weekend against Woodside after a nail-biting, one-goal win against Sale City.
The club won by one goal in A and B grade in an intense afternoon of netball in front of a passionate crowd of onlookers.
“Both games were well thought-out and the sides were strong and consistent,” Galea said.
“We were lucky to get over the line in the end and that was due to the girls keeping their composure and not getting frazzled and caught up in the excitement of the game.”
The Wildcats head into the round seven clash after they were defeated by 11 points at home by Churchill.
“I know that Woodside have lost a few girls from the previous season but that doesn’t mean we’re going in there with any other expectations other than to win the game,” she said.
“I’ve been pretty pleased with how both A and B grade girls have dedicated themselves to training and I think it’s definitely showing during game time.”
Cowwarr sit fifth on the North Gippsland A grade ladder, two spots in front of Woodside who have two wins for the season.
Churchill v Heyfield
Heyfield will be hoping for their third win of the season when they hit the road to Churchill to take on the Cougars.
The Roos sit eighth on the North Gippsland A grade ladder compared to Churchill who sit second with four wins.
Churchill head into the game coming off an 11-goal win, compared to Heyfield who went down to Rosedale in round seven.
Gormandale v Glengarry
Gormandale remain the only side in the North Gippsland A grade competition yet to win a game in season 2018.
The Tigers will host Glengarry this weekend in a 10th versus ninth clash.
The Magpies head into the game after a 20-goal loss to Yarram while Gormandale lost to TTU by seven goals on Saturday.
