Round 11 preview
Newborough/Yallourn will face cellar-dweller Churchill in round 11 action this weekend.
The Rams are putting in but are not being rewarded for their efforts.
They scored first against Falcons last week but couldn’t keep up the pressure.
Newborough/Yallourn have the firepower up front with Ash Birrell, Dylan Fairbrother, Alex Van Vliet and Shayne Pavich all in good form.
Sale v Monash
Monash are coming off the bye while Sale will be licking their wounds after a 4-2 loss to Fortuna.
Sale played well in patches against Fortuna but couldn’t finish off with shots either too high or too wide.
Monash have no shortage of firepower and this could be a high-scoring match.
Traralgon City v Trafalgar
Trafalgar are fresh after a big win over East Gippsland and will be out to prove they can beat a high-calibre team in Traralgon City.
Traralgon City have been playing below their potential and will need to up the ante if they want to play finals.
Falcons v Moe
League leaders Falcons are home to Moe in what promises to be a close clash.
Falcons lead Moe 16-15 in their head to head matches and have won the last three.
Falcons escaped a big scare from Churchill last week although they ended up 3-1 winners. Moe went home with a draw against Traralgon City last week in a match they should have won.
This is sure to be another competitive match which will go down to the final kick of the day. This is Gippsland FM’s monthly broadcast match.
East Gippsland v Fortuna
The Lions will make the long trek to Bairnsdale to battle the East Gippslanders,
Fortuna would have been pleased with their 4-2 win over Sale last week but need to control the ball more. Too many times in last week’s match they held on too long and Sale were able to cover players.
It should be a rewarding trip for Fortuna who should come away with the three points.
