Maffra And District Car Club held round three of the Boisdale Hillclimb Series on Sunday with almost 100 competitors in attendance.
The long-track race meeting attracted all types of hillclimb cars from across Gippsland and further afield with all vying for the fastest time of the day.
As predicted, a hard-fought battle between defending club champion Matt Muir and Kerran Pridmore had them leading the field for most of the meeting.
Club president Anthony Kovco in his buggy was close behind but it was Muir who eventually recorded the fastest time of 58.54 seconds.
Pridmore in a Subaru WRX gained second place with a time of 59.11 leaving Kovco third outright with a time of 59.59 seconds.
Standout junior drivers at the event were Lachlan Allman, Callum DuVe, Callam Kerby and Reiley Cannon.
All were within two seconds of each other by the end of competition and recorded times to rival most of the senior drivers.
Allman eventually secured first place in his class in a Honda Civic with a time of 65.16 seconds.
In the ladies’ division it was Natalie Street who emerged victorious with Hannah Fortune running second and Lauren Britton in third place with times of 68.67, 68.80 and 70.38 respectively.
The next race meeting at Boisdale will be held on Sunday, July 1 and will also be a long-track hillclimb.
